SHRM Consultants Forum Code of Ethics
The Society for Human Resource Management Consultants Forum Code of Ethics strives to promote and maintain the highest standards of personal integrity, honesty, professional competence, sound judgment, and discretion among each of its members. Developed by human resource management consultants for human resource management consultants, this Code of Ethics is the SHRM Consultants Forum's proclamation of our obligations as members to our clients, our profession, our society, and ourselves.
In addition to adhering to the SHRM Code of Ethics, as a member of the SHRM Consultants
Forum, I pledge to:
- Represent my human resource management credentials, qualifications, experience, and ability fairly, accurately and non-deceptively in all communications and advertisements, whether for myself or for my clients;
- Accept only engagements for which I am qualified;
- Serve my clients with honesty, integrity, loyalty, competence, and objectivity;
- Honor relevant non-compete and confidentiality agreements and disclose to my clients any situation that I believe might create a conflict of interest for me in accepting or carrying out an assignment for a client;
- Keep client information and records of client engagements confidential, and use proprietary client information only with client permission;
- Charge fees and expenses that are fair, reasonable and legitimate;
- Keep informed of, understand and uphold all relevant laws and regulations relating to human resource management and my consulting activities;
- Comply with all copyright laws, and use proprietary information or methodologies only with permission;
- Support the SHRM Consultants Forum's goals and objectives for developing the profession of human resource management consulting;
- Improve the public's understanding of human resource management consulting.
